Shipping and Returns

Shipping Policy

At Critical Surplus, we work hard to ensure fast, transparent, and reliable shipping for every order. All items are shipped from our New Jersey facility using trusted carriers to ensure safe delivery.

Shipping Methods

Orders may ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Oversized or palletized items may ship by freight carrier.

Order Processing Time

Most orders ship within 1 business day. Orders placed after business hours or on weekends/holidays will ship the next business day.

Delivery Timeframes

  • Eastern & Central U.S.: 1–3 business days
  • Western U.S.: 2–5 business days
  • Freight shipments: 3–7 business days

Delivery times are estimates and may vary by carrier.

Shipping Costs

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout. We offer free standard UPS Ground shipping on orders over $50 within the continental United States. Heavy or oversized items may incur additional charges.

Expedited Shipping

Expedited Shipping is available at standard carrier rates. For 1-day shipping please select a Next Day Air option at checkout and include any special instructions in the order comments.

Tracking Information

A tracking number will be emailed to you automatically when your order is picked up by the carrier.

Damaged Shipments

If your order arrives damaged, please notify the carrier immediately and keep all packaging materials. Email us photos of the damage and packaging within 7 business days so we can assist with a claim and provide support.

Order Changes & Cancellations

Orders can be changed or canceled only before shipment. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be modified or cancelled.

Returns & Refunds Policy

We want you to feel confident when shopping with Critical Surplus. If something is not as expected or your situation has changed, we will do our best to help. Most items may be returned within 30 days of delivery for any reason provided they meet the requirements below.

Eligible Returns

  • Items must be unused, uninstalled, and in the same condition as received.
  • Items sold as Unused in Original Packaging, Open Box, or as Refurbished are eligible.

Ineligible Returns

  • Products sold as Used, Salvage, For Parts, or Sold As-Is
  • Items that have been installed, damaged, modified, or altered after delivery

Return Merchandise Authorization Required

A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) form is required for all returns. Please email or call us before sending an item back. RMA requests are typically approved within 1 business day. Additonal information may be requested. Unauthorized returns may be refused.

Restocking Fee

Returns not due to an error on our part may incur a restocking fee of up to 25% at our sole discretion.

Who Pays for Return Shipping?

  • If we made a mistake (wrong item, inaccurate listing, defective): we cover return shipping.
  • If the customer ordered incorrectly or changed their mind: the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Refund Processing

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 3–5 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned item.

90-Day Limited Guarantee

Items sold as Unused in Original Packaging, Open Box, or as Refurbished are backed by our 90-Day Limited Guarantee.

If your item fails to function properly within 90 days of delivery, we will:

  • Provide an immediate replacement (if available), or
  • Issue a refund once the item is returned and inspected

This guarantee does not apply to items sold as Used, Salvage, For Parts, or Sold As-Is. Manufacturer warranties generally do not apply to surplus items; all functional coverage is provided directly by Critical Surplus.

Our Commitment

We do our best to describe and photograph each item accurately. If we ship the wrong item or make a mistake, we will cover return shipping and provide a full refund or replacement when available.
